hi,
i know that iemguts is not in pd-extended anymore because it's considered "unstable / unfinished".
i didn't look at the code, maybe propertybang needs lots of stuff from iemguts... but what if i just take only propertybang and make an external for it. would that get included in pd-extended?

most objects in iemguts are pretty self-contained (well, they all included the same header, that provides some common infrastructure.
so taking the C-code of one of the iemguts objects and releasing them separately, is just a stupid way to circumvent the "unstable/unfinished" clause. in this case it would be better to just add iemguts to pdx. (i think forking is ok if you need to add functionality or want to re-implement things; but just for the sake of releasing, i think forks are a bda thing)
otoh, i hope that this was the last monolithic pdx release, which i might make things like releasing "unstable/unfinished" things a bit easier.

PS: probably i should just add a popup where the users have to type "Yes_i_understand_that_the_upstream_author_considers_this_unstable" once.

we had a discussion on #dataflow and you told me that iemguts is not finished or stable enough to be included in pd-extended. since mtl use only propertybang maybe we could just take this code and have it include in pd-extended.
but yes, if iemguts is ready to be include in pd-extended let's do this.

Matthieu, thanks for your alternative solution. It's a good thing to be able to circumvent a problem ( unstable, unfinished, author, etc.. ).
Patrick , i am going to do some tests and i am motivated to clean the mtl abstractions of iemguts objects.

gridflow is not included in pd-extended. so asking people to install gridflow for gf/propertybang is not the best solution either.
but maybe *now* iemguts is finished and will be included in pd-extended?

GridFlow has a Ubuntu build and two OSX builds. what more do you want ? I need someone to take care of the Windows builds. But you don't have to use it just as a iemguts replacement : there's a lot more stuff in it that can make it interesting for you.

There haven't been much changes to iemguts (svn) in the last year or so... it can't be more finished than it was when it got removed from pd-extended a few months ago.
