Howdy all,
I wrote up a little RIP page with some pictures and video from Pd cons 2011 and 2016. A unique member of the community indeed:
Ed Kelly and I bonded over computer music and a silly sense of humor. Although I only hung out with him a few times in person and we mainly communicated online over the years, it felt like I had always known him. I know things were not always easy for him, but he would push through with creative energy. He will be missed in the Pure Data community, through which I met him. Condolences to his friends and family in the UK and around the world.

@Alex: Is there a condolences page to write to, specifically not on Facebook, etc? Maybe we can all write something to show his touch beyond in-person relationships.
It's a great shame, I remember him with great joy, I still remember the anecdote about the dog. A great guy. :/ Jos?
@Jos?: What was the anecdote?

Tehomas Bow on facebook gave us the bad news. He had a stroke and fell, got injured and passed away this friday. He leaves us soon, just before turning 50. Ed was quite a fun character, I loved him, he'll be missed. Rest in Peace.

that's mark, me and Ed, at PdCon16, but this was also my birthday and this was a birthday pic with my Pd buddies, we went out later to celebrate my 39th birthday.

Back in 2009 when we hosted the convention in Brazil, Ed was bitten by a tropical spider and his hand got quite swollen, I hope we had given him a nicer welcome to the jungle...
I met him in 2007 at the PdCon in Montreal and loved him right away. I guess we also bonded over a silly sense of humor.
When I found out my nephew was autistic, I reached Ed for guidance and help, cause I knew his son was also on the spectrum, he was really nice and gave me a lot of attention and information!
He was the life of the party and he'll be missed.
RIP "Sir" Edward Kelly, as I used to call him.
cheers

Sorry, I missed this. I had posted your nice entry on the Pd facebook page, where the said news was given.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/puredata
this is his facebook profile https://www.facebook.com/ed.kelly.35574
And this is Tehomas, who gave the news https://www.facebook.com/tehomas I know he'd be happy to forward messages to the family, I had also sent yout nice post to him via a direct message
While we're at it, I fear if his work eventually vanishes from the online world. We should download, keep it and host it somewhere to be safe maybe?
cheers

I wanna contribute to this kinds of nice things obviously.
I have a git server where you have to register: https://git.nubegris.com.ar/user/sign_up it's a low power machine next to my room. (i do regular backups).
just create a public repo with anything for the backup (music, patches, etc). this is nice as git repos can be mirrored, migrated and so on.
I can't really guaranty it wont fail at some point so it will be good if there's a mirror somewhere.
15GB i can handle. if more is needed will see how we manage it.
there is also an apache web server on that machine. not sure if there's a need to stream tracks from it as bandcamp already is handling that.
I'm glad to be part of such a nice list.
let me know what you think.
