Hi,
thanks for the suggestion. The pathname didn't seem to cause a problem particularly, so long as I do ./pd in pd/bin, rather than just 'pd' (I've just got pd in a user's directory at the moment, so it ain't in the path). The version is 10.1.3, but with Miller's suggestion it works (with no sound though, as you probably gathered). D'you think this might be something to do with 10.1.3 vs. 10.1.4? Hmm, I might try upgrading.

Hi,
I'm just trying to setup pd under osx. I've downloaded/unpacked Tk8.4 from the sourcefourge site 'snapshot', put the Frameworks under /Library, and put the Wish Shell.app under /Applications. But I can't get Pd to start the gui - there's no error message, just nothing happens.
Sorry if this is more a tk question than a pd one, but any pointers out there?
thanks,
nick
...besides miller's suggestion, are you typing the full pathname to start pd? I had problems when trying "bin/pd" (said it couldn't find pd.tk), but this went away when I used the full pwd (ie: /Applications/pd-0.35-test21/bin/pd)...also, what version of OS X are you using? I'm using pd successfully under 10.1.4 on a TiG4 667...
