hi list,
I'm trying to use the plugin~ external to use LADSPA effects but it behaves weird on my FC5 + pd 0.39-2 computer.
as soon as I try to load an effect the GUI goes nuts and I can't see anymore the objects names (nor numbers, comments, etc..), in the shell I see a lot of errors like this one:
bad screen distance "159,000000"
and this one
can't find an indexable and selectable item ".x9c83ef0.t9c85b08"
I've compiled plugin~ from source from the /external directory.
...what's wrong?
ciao, davide.

Some time ago I have had the same problem, searching with google I learn that one workaound is unset the lang variable before start pd.
unset LANG; pd -jack etc. &

the workaround works, thank you!
just for the archive: the CVS version of plugin~ uses the "info" message instead of the "print" message as reported in the help file, is it ok for everyone if I fix the help file?
ciao, davide.

it is not the more elegant solution but it works

wow ... i experienced this problem regularly a few years ago ... never came across this workaround, though ...
however, i'd be curious, what's the initial reason for this bug ...
