1 is not a prime number. (9 is not a prime number either)
yes thanks for catching that -- I had mistakenly typed in odd numbers, not prime
then your ascii art is not coming out properly because you don't use a
fixed-width font. see how it comes out here : http://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/2010-09/082440.html
yikes! sorry about that I use a font in T'bird that isn't fixed-width
then I'm wondering why you use [list-dripslow] instead of [list-drip].
so I can bang out one prime number at a time and use it as |mod p| where p is prime

Well, if you want to use ascii art, switch to a fixed-width font at least for the time that you write or read ascii-art.

sorry, I read the doc too quick. nevermind.

I think I fixed it by adding the domain to the prefs so it sends fixed-width plain text to [iem.at]

Oh, that's not the problem I see, but it can make a difference for most users if you send the mail as html. However, the mailing-list archives strip the html and stick with the plain text and already force fixed-width on everything.
What you need to do, is make sure that you are using a fixed-width font *while* editing your ascii-art that you are sending to us. (Or is that already included in your setting ? I don't know your software)

right -- I forgot to set it to fixed-width while composing I'm not sure it will send a certain style (fixed width) to iem.at but I'll check my settings before sending any ascii art - thanks for the heads up _ _ _ __ __ _ _ _ _ | |_| |__ __ _ _ __ | | _____ | / | __ _| |_| |__ (_) ___ _ _| | | __| '_ \ / _` | '_ | |/ / __| | |/| |/ _` | __| '_ | |/ _ \ | | | | | |_| | | | (_| | | | | <\__ \ | | | | (_| | |_| | | | | __/ |_| |_| \__|_| |_|__,_|_| |_|_|____/ |_| |_|__,_|__|_| |_|_|___|__,_(_)

Your test ascii-art got through a lot better, but there is still the problem that the leading spaces are deleted, and that can make the ascii-art unreadable. I wonder why that is, because it got to the pd-list archive correctly. I wonder in which programme the bug is.
