you don't need to compile pd yourself, just get those binaries http://www-crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/Software/pd-0.36-0.msw.zip and have a look at this http://www-crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/Pd_documentation/index.htm (links from miller's site)
