Is anyone aware of any externals that would allow me receive emails directly into pd or would I have to write a script that would somehow pipe them into a text file from an email client? I'm using linux. Thanks. Jim

Use fetchmail to retreive mail, and procmail to redirect the received mail to individual formatted text files, with the help of a script. Then write another script to check for new files, and start it from time to time with the shell object. The new mail files can then be opened with some text object.

Thanks for the suggestions Marc, Chris and Ben. It looks like the simplest solution for me is using your suggestion Marc. I'm also using formail which makes it easy to get rid of the headers etc. Now just working on massaging the text to get it ready for Gem. Jim
