I'm starting a new thread cause the problems I have with Odroid are changing. Since I installed Pd with apt-get, at first, when I was writing /usr/bin/pd, I was getting the following: priority 6 scheduling enabled. priority 8 scheduling enabled. Fontconfig warning: ignoring UTF-8: not a valid region tag
and Pd was hanging (this was mentioned in the previous thread).
Now I get something else when I try to open Pd, which is this: X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. xcb_connection_has_error() returned true X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. priority 6 scheduling enabled. priority 8 scheduling enabled. X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication. application-specific initialization failed: couldn't connect to display "localhost:10.0"
followed by watchdog:signaling pd... repeatedly.
When I log in a Udoo I have (both Odroid and Udoo via ssh with the -X flag) I can open Pd without problems and XQuartz works fine, but with Odroid I get this. I guess the last line of the comments (couldn't connect to display "localhost:10.0") should have a significant meaning, but I don't really know what to do.
I'm on OS X 10.8.5 with XQuartz 2.7.6 and Odroid-U3 with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Pd-0.45-4
Solutions or suggestions for both problems (XQuarz case and "Fontconfig warning: ignoring UTF-8: not a valid region tag" with Pd hanging) are greatly appreciated.

"localhost:10.0" is the DISPLAY-setting for X11-forwarding via ssh. this means: whenever you start "ssh -X ...", ssh will set the DISPLAY to this value, so that all X11-applications will be forwarded to your local machine.
in any case, you should first get X11 forwarding to run properly (without Pd). use some simple application (like xclock or xeyes) to test whether it works,

An update to this thread. I found this thread in Odroid's forum http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=5650 and followed the suggestion of the fourth post, saying to change the 'Option "fbdev" "/dev/fb1"' to fb0 (well it's for Debian Wheezy and my Odroid is running in Ubuntu, but gave it a shot), and when I try to open Pd I get this: xcb_connection_has_error() returned true priority 6 scheduling enabled. priority 8 scheduling enabled. application-specific initialization failed: couldn't connect to display "localhost:10.0"
but I don't get the "X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication." error any more. Then watchdog is signaling Pd without Pd opening. Is this any better?

dunno, but please use "-nrt" for any future tests (until it works). having the watchdog and priority messages reported again and again does not really help.

no.
you get errors because you are trying to read partition tables from
partitions (which don't contain partition tables; "only" disks do)
most info revealed by the first command (fdisk -l
) has already been
revealed by cat /proc/partitions

An update to this thread. I finally managed to open Pd and get sound out of it with the debian (jessie, I think...) image for odroid I installed on an SD card. I tried before with no luck, but after RalfD's suggestion, I logged in with ssh -XY ( I used to log in only with the -X flag) and it finally worked.
Thank you all for your tips, I guess this issue is solved (at least for me).
