hi,
after installing mandrake 9.0 and compiling pd and gem i get the following error:
---------------------------------------------start| [root@oostende gem]# pd -lib Gem /home/rr/pd-0.35-0/gem/Gem.pd_linux: libquicktime.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Gem: can't load library ----------------------------------------------end|
pd sources gcame from Millers site gem sources came from sorceforge
anything i can do about it that i do not know about? *grin*

Hi Kurt,
First a warning about using the CVS version. CVS is supposed to be used by developers, the software that is in CVS is under constant development, so features might disappear and appear at will.
Ideally CVS should be used by developers and advanced users who will then be able to fix comilation problems themselves.
Anyhow, back to your problem. Can yous send me the output of "configure". Normally gem should be statically linked against libquicktime, it seems that in your case you have a dynamically linked gem.
