On the road to getting a release out, I've recently done some work making some GUI stuff run stably (using apps like XYZee, for example), and I've included Miller's GOP fixes. Give it a whirl and report back how it works for you:

appears that GEM is temporarily broken on Mac for the build dated 10th of Jan 2012, possibly tclpd as well.

which build? is it 10.6/x86_64?

appears to be the 64 build as there is no 32 build for Mac made in 2012.
newbie mistake, sorry - i read somewhere that Gem doesn't yet have a version for 64 Bit.

btw, i just pushed a few changes to the Gem master branch that allows to _load_ Gem on osx/64bit and eventually to use it. it also has multiple window support (each [gemwin] controls a separate window).
things are not ready for prime time yet. e.g. expect crashes and weird side effects.
oh, and there is still no native image acquisition implemented...

I just included those 3 commits into the pd-extended/0.43 branch.
The Mac OS X 10.6/x86_64 build server has gmerlin installed, so Gem could use that on 64-bit builds.

that's good news! I did some testing on an up-to-date Ubuntu 11.04 & there're some nice features indeed!
one buggy thing I would like to report: opening a patch in pd and by switching to another workspace and then coming back to the pd-workspace once in a while the chords between the boxes disappear & the console outputs the following:
(Tcl) INVALID COMMAND NAME: invalid command name ".x8" while executing ".x8" ("uplevel" body line 505) invoked from within "uplevel #0 $cmd_from_pd"(Tcl) INVALID COMMAND NAME: invalid command name "5beea0.c" while executing "5beea0.c create rectangle 288 137 295 139 -fill $msg_nlet -outline $msg_cord -tags [list .x85beea0.t86145b8i6 inlet]" ("uplevel" body line 1) invoked from within "uplevel #0 $cmd_from_pd"
though if I switch back n'forth somehow the chords appear again. let me know if further infos needed!

that's good news! I did some testing on an up-to-date Ubuntu 11.04& there're some nice features indeed!
one buggy thing I would like to report: opening a patch in pd and by switching to another workspace and then coming back to the pd-workspace once in a while the chords between the boxes disappear& the console outputs the following:
(Tcl) INVALID COMMAND NAME: invalid command name ".x8" while executing ".x8" ("uplevel" body line 505) invoked from within "uplevel #0 $cmd_from_pd"(Tcl) INVALID COMMAND NAME: invalid command name "5beea0.c" while executing "5beea0.c create rectangle 288 137 295 139 -fill $msg_nlet -outline $msg_cord -tags [list .x85beea0.t86145b8i6 inlet]" ("uplevel" body line 1) invoked from within "uplevel #0 $cmd_from_pd"
though if I switch back n'forth somehow the chords appear again. let me know if further infos needed!
so long best ø

I'm guessing you are using a German localization for your computer. Pd-extended just follows that. If you rank English above German, Pd-extended should be in English.

MacOSX10.6.7
Apple allowed to change the language of a single Application through the properties (Ctrl-i) on the Application Icon until OS 10.5 but removed this feature with 10.6
Now there are 3rd party tools which let you still do that: http://www.tj-hd.co.uk/en-gb/languageswitcher/ however this app doesn't see the languages in Pd it claims it's only in english. This might be a bug of that specific tool or a bug how the multiple languages are implemented in Pd(-ext).

I added all the supported languages to the Info.plist, so hopefully that will enable this feature. You can either wait for tomorrow's build, or for the impatient, you can replace the Pd-extended.app/Contents/Info.plist with the attached one.

Are you sure this is a problem with Pd? Try other apps and see what happens there. For me the Language Switcher launches the wrong Pd, but that's a bug in that app, I think. I just tried Language Switcher on some other apps, it doesn't seem to like non-Cocoa apps. I recommend contacting the Language Switcher developer about that.

I just tested today's build with Language Switch, it shows 28 languages. Try it out and let me know if it doesn't work for you.
Hi hans, thanks for that - i downloaded Pd-0.43.1-extended-macosx105-i386.dmg and unfortunately it doesn't work for me, the Pd icon is missing too. If i try to open the plist in xcode it tells me that it has been corrupted. replacing it with the one you posted makes the program not launchable any more.
Oops, silly bug, I forgot about how limited Mac OS X's built-in sed is. I checked the fix in, or if you want to test now, replace the Info.plist in the app with the attached one.
.hc <Info.plist>
If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Thanks! That sounds useful for me, I will try that!
best wishes,

MacOSX10.6.7
Apple allowed to change the language of a single Application through the properties (Ctrl-i) on the Application Icon until OS 10.5 but removed this feature with 10.6
Now there are 3rd party tools which let you still do that: http://www.tj-hd.co.uk/en-gb/languageswitcher/ however this app doesn't see the languages in Pd it claims it's only in english. This might be a bug of that specific tool or a bug how the multiple languages are implemented in Pd(-ext).
