Hello pd users, I am trying to get pd going on a mac osx 10.2, so I downloaded the installer from Han's page. After extracting it and moving the package to the applications folder and copying the prefs to the pref file it still doesn't work? When I click on the package it blinks in the icon bar a couple times but then never starts. Could this be a tcl/tk problem? How do I check tcl/tk on mac?

...which 10.2.x? if using 10.2.x, I hope it's 10.2.8...the tcl/tk
frameworks weren't included in osx before 10.4.x (except for libtcl);
however, the app pkg's include these files...also, which specific
installer did you get? Have you tried the binaries from miller's page?
...after that, could you open up /Applications/Console.app and tell
us what is printed there? You can also check the pd*.app
crashreporter log from there...

If memory serves me, then neither Miller's or my Pd.app will run on
anything earlier than 10.3. There has been very little demand for it,
and it'd be more than a little work to support it. Plus 10.3 is worth
the upgrade.

Hi All,
The Mac is 350 MHZ PowerPC G4 OSX version 10.2.8 . Millers version of PD 0.39-0 does work on it. I haven't managed to load Gem or pmpd. I am trying to use Pd-0.38.4-extended-RC2.
I'm not really sure how to check the log or start pd from the consol? How do you do that?

...not trying to be mean, but you could start by reading further down
in my previous message:

..."console.app" is an application that you have to dbl-click
on...then you can see all kinds of log outputs, and on the left of
the window there should be a list of logs (perhaps you'll have to
"open a triangle"), one folder of which is called
CrashReporter...inside there should be a log for pd crashes...
