Dear Pd-users,
I have some trouble using Pd under Suse-Linux 7.0. This distribution comes with an Alsa-driver which works with my SB-128 card (chip ens1371) quite well. Using Pd (with the -alsa option) I get sporadic I/O errors like: A/D/A sync - ADC blocked and in the file /var/log/messages I get the messages:
Jan 17 11:46:51 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-35 Jan 17 11:46:51 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1 Jan 17 11:46:51 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-1-2 Jan 17 11:46:51 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-35 Jan 17 11:46:51 linux last message repeated 3 times
My modules.conf does not contain an "char-major-35" entry and the Alsa section in this file looks like:
# ALSA section {$#@begin@#$} [don't remove or move this line] vvvvv # # ALSA native device support, generated by YaST2 # alias char-major-116 snd options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=1 alias snd-card-0 snd-card-ens1371 options snd-card-ens1371 snd_index=0 snd_id=card1 snd_adc_frame_size=128 snd_dac1_frame_size=128 snd_dac2_frame_size=128 # # OSS/Free emulation # alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss # # ALSA section {$#@_end_@#$} [don't remove or move this line] ^^^^^
I hope someone may help, many thanks, E.Zipfel
