Hi Miller, that's great. One short note though: i vote for taking out the -Werror from the makefiles. I use gcc-3.3 and get a number of warnings for pd and the extras which makes it necessary to edit all the makefiles.

Maybe I can fix it so the distributed version does this (but it's very important for me to keep it as it helps keep the code clean.) Sooner or later I'll end up with GCC 3.3 and find all the warnings you're getting so I can fix them.

icc gives even more warnings than gcc ... so you might want to have a look at some of these warnings, too.
