Hi,
I reworked the pmpd-editor I mentioned before a bit, also using Nicolas' work as inspiration. It's attached and already a bit fun.
To use it, open both structures.pd and pmpd-editor.pd
[pd HELP] contains an introduction on how to use it, in case of questions, just shoot. The links are still a bit off position, but well, it's a start.

Sorry for spamming again, here's a slighty "fixed" version, where the fixed masses are actually fixed, even when forces are applied to the other masses. Also some minor cosmetic and usability changes were added.

I won't say a word, but now you can interact with the red masses inside "pd anim" when in edit mode.
ver 0.0003 is here: http://footils.org/pkg/pmpd-editor-0.0003.tgz

Back from "money work", I have some more below.
usability has to be improve a bit, but the concept works great.
The updated version is at: http://footils.org/pkg/pmpd-editor-0.0004.tgz
Changes include two keyboard shortcuts for setting the startpoints ("s") and endpoints ("e") of links. This makes working much faster, as often the last endpoint of a link is the startpoint of the next link, for example in a string.
Then I also made a version of the fixed masses, where the masses (red) are array elements. Every mass is a 1-element array here. It's possible to select, which implementation to use - the array masses or the single masses - with a radio button.
Array masses can be moved when not in edit mode, but they get messed up when moved in edit mode (coordinates are off then). Single masses are better for moving in edit mode.
Actually even now I really like this pmpd-editor. It's very easy to build little houses, birds and ships or stuff like that graphically now, and apart from pmpd, not a single external is used.

Great stuff, you've made here!
Changes include two keyboard shortcuts for setting the startpoints ("s") and endpoints ("e") of links. This makes working much faster, as often the last endpoint of a link is the startpoint of the next link, for example in a string.
I've modified a little bit this system, now the "e" key is standing for (e)dit and is used for both the starting and the ending mass. It's just preference, and a little more fast ;-)

Me too! I've added a resetL send to all the link when you bon the "build-pmpd-objects". That makes the link to take their actuel size as their default size. When you active the computation, the structure is no more deformedand we can draw structure with only one fixed mass! There is a little bug after creating the structure. Some links got one of their points setted to (0,0). I had this problem too when using the datastructures, I'll see if I can fix that.
Bye,
Nicolas

Hm, why didn't I think of this great idea myself? ;)

Wonderful, I was already wondering how to achieve this useful feature, and now it turns out not to be hard at all.
Thanks a lot for your additions.
