hi list on windowsmachines its possible to use my own pd on every machine by copying the pd folder including all externals to the local hd. is this also possible on linux, ore to what i have to pay attention to? Ore do i have to install linux and copy the externals folder, ore install everything?

I know what you mean, but i have never tried that on linux, because the binaries, libs,... are all in default directories (e.g. the executeable pd file is in /usr/bin/, ...) I think in your case it would be easier (and also smaller in terms of hd-space) to copy all your patches and the binaries of the externals you need into a folder and then make a .pdrc file (like the .bat file on windows) to start pd with all the externals. (on http://pure-data.iem.at/docs/faq it's explained how to make a .pdrc file)
