hope this is 't a RTFM question, but i don't recall seeing it..... ;-)
it appears that outlet~ and inlet~ autosum their inputs, as does dac~.
so what is the benefit of using a +~ object? is it necessary at all?
--just looking for ways around throw~ and catch~ without using tons of +~... the former objects seem to give me immense trouble under linux.
best, d.

it seems most objects (all?) that have a signal input do this. i often use this, but i believe miller once recommended not to rely on it..

You can rely on it all right... I just caution against over-using it as a matter of style; it's more readable if the "+~" is explicit. Also, Pd makes no attempt to re-use the sums if you add the same signals more than once.
