Hi agian,
here's my second problem. Motu has released a driver for their 828 for OS X. It's a CoreAudio driver and Pd seems to support that... However, when starting Pd with -listdev only the build in audio device shows up. (The control pannel also shows just one audio device.. ;-( ) Is there anybody out there who has successfully used the 828 (or any other motu device) with OS X ?
Olaf
Hi again,
this is part two: I finally got the motu 828 working in general (it appers in the Mac's audio settings). However, Pd does not like it... When starting Pd and choosing the motu as audio output device (-noadc -audiooutdev 3 -outchannels 8) I get the following error:
Could not force buffer size!Error number -10000 occured opening portaudio stream
Any ideas what this means? - The sources (pa_mac_core.c) tell me that an error occured while querrying the output device to resize a buffer (a call to AudioDeviceSetProperty). Any help is very appreciated since I need it running on monday for a 2 month long sound installation....

Wow, sounds ugly, but there's hope...
try different values of "-audiobuf" (5, 10, 5, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100) and hope that fixes it
Otherwise comment out the offending line in pa_mac_core.c and pray..

Hi Miller,
I got it - sort of - working using -audiobuf 20. But audio sounds a bit 'distorted' (like buffers skipping some data...). And I get some really broken stuff out of adc~ with -noadc set! And I can't use 48kHz, just 44.1.
BTW, there are some other problems on OS X: when turning on Audio using the button in the main window I get 'can't read "Priv(repeated)" no such variable'. Turning on audio via the menue or using a message "; pd dsp 1" works. Second thing: "error: #keyname: couldn't unbind" sometime appears in the console. I haven't figured out jet when and why... Ah, and I'm using Tcl/Tk 8.4a4 from sourceforge.
