Hi! I'm new to pd. I can't get sounds via ASIO -via Portaudio- (Creative ASIO is selected in the combo for output device 1 in audio settings). I have a Soundblaster Audigy; the installed drivers are the ones provided with the card. Everything works fine with standard MMIO selected in the audio settings (I mean, computed audio really sounds). What's the problem? How can I find out if I have ASIO drivers? Does the default drivers from Creative provide ASIO support? And if not, why "Creative ASIO" is listed under input/output devices combos? Note that I'm new to windows audio platform, I usually work on top of ALSA or JACK. Thank you in advance, Carlos.
Well, I'm answering myself here. It was a problem with the sampling rate. Portaudio couldn't open an playback audio stream at 44100 Hz, so I changed the output rate of pd to 48000 Hz and it worked fine. This triggers a new question: can I use a different sampling rate? What should I do to configure the ASIO driver or portaudio to handle it? Thank you again. Regards, Carlos. ----- Original Message ----- From: Carlos Pita To: PD-list@iem.at Sent: Monday, September 06, 2004 8:43 PM Subject: [PD] Creative ASIO
