Hi List
I was wondering. Is there any PD external that can read loop points from a wavefile?
Should I try to extend soundfiler to be able to parse the smpl header?
I suggest a second output that outputs a list of sampler information like MIDI key, fine tuning and first sample loop and loop direction. Other suggestions or comments?
Cheers Soeren
Hm.. that would be pretty useful, but I don't know of any externals for that. Maybe you could ask pd-list. Seems like extending soundfiler would be a good way to do it.

Hi Ben,
I just discovered your susloop~ external which I think is great. I was wondering if you know of any method (external) that can extract the MIDI note and loop information out of a wave file, for instance by parsing the "smpl" header which is commonly used by various wave editors.
See http://www.sonicspot.com/guide/wavefiles.html for details on headers.
Take care
i would recommend putting it into a new extern. i have source code for a wav parsing extern i wrote to get accurate sample size. well, to be accurate, it uses wav file reading routines from Olli Parviainen's (awesome) soundstretch library, which would probably be much more useful than my code! :

in soundforge, you can export regions lists as text files, which can be parsed into a pd-readable format. i did a kind of fake-ReCycle with that once.. perhaps other wave editors have similar capabilities? but it would be useful to get that type of information too..
