well this actually looks really great! I wanted to do this one day, a php script to generate an overview of a pd patch, but never managed to take some time... it may be very useful to have this kind of stuff, for exemple to have a kind of "overview" of an online .pd before downloading it... I think my goal was rather to control javascript with PD (I'm actually doing VJing stuff with javascript) thru flashserver and a minimal .swf embedded... sick, isn't it ?
anyway, I don't remember why I wanted to do this (must be insane too), but is it possible to get your sources ?
as firefox1.5 now has (minimal) svg enabled, im experimenting with it. but nothing pd related, atleast not yet ;) (local.google.com is the best svg app that i found to work with ff1.5)
I don't think it's svg, is it ? I'm using the google map api and it looks like a pure javascript stuff.
hmm, pd as cms... pd-patch to html "parser" in php, hmm...
mmmh and then the opposite: pd rendered in html and controlled with javascript form elements. mmmh mmm

of course not...your best bet would probably be launching a Rails-webrick instance via gridflow's ruby support..
(even if ive got to edit a little with Dreamweaver) Maybe is better to do all with that(DW), isnt it? thank you all.

you shouldnt need PHP or GD anymore, with the <Canvas> object in firefox 1.5 (and i think Safari). didnt see anything about binding mouseclicks to widgets though, maybe wait for 1.6...
yeah, as someone (you?) noted me about the ff-canvas, im very excited... (and i cant believe i missed that link when reading about ff and svg)
im thinking on using pd patches as (converted) xml files (easier for parsing)... ill post on pd-dev later the week...
if keyboard works (http://www.abrahamjoffe.com.au/ben/canvascape/ ) the mouse should work too...
but the "interactive" (or even animation) in ff1.5 and svg is so slow that i will concentrate on static pd patch presentation only atm...

As I told one day to Tatien from http://drone.ws, a video dataflow software, I would like to have svg (xml) files in which I would put variables in the printf()/[expr] style that I could change using dataflow objects. The idea if open source !!
if keyboard works (http://www.abrahamjoffe.com.au/ben/canvascape/ ) the mouse should work too...
Awesome !! I would like the [key] and [keyname] externals to accept 2 keys at a time like this... :-(

ya, it's no SVG... if you want an full SVG app, you can try http://mapomatix.sf.net
( shit, i'm self-promoting )

this is totally wrong to speak of proprietary technology in case of SVG, even though, for now, you can only really use SVG with the plugin from Adobe, SVG is a free standard like HTML. it's not owned in any way by Adobe.
one day, there will be a good SVG viewer published as open-source.
the project MapOMatix products compliant SVG, the way you can see it is another problem.

oh,
my failure, sorry. (and i thought it was a cool svg app :) and yes, it works on my not svg enhanced ff... doh.
btw. no maps worked at mapomatix.sf.net (with ff1.5) (but the svg in ff1.5 is like only half implemented...)

Hi,
Well, you guys should check out some PEAR (PHP Application Repository) packages, namely :
HTML_AJAX (Server-side javascript communication) Net_Server Net_Socket Net_DataFlow
I am self-promoting too regarding the last one... I am in the way of adding this file PdSend, included in the example below. This package is just a draft for now, available on http://pear.php.net/ or http://www.sourcelibre.com/puredata/
You can then control Javascript callbacks with AJAX, and then animated SVG, lets say. If you mix it with other PEAR classes like XML_SVG, or such. Have fun ! Please tell me or the pd-list if you have further experiments. :-)
Also, look at this example i just wrote : http://www.sourcelibre.com/puredata/jspd.tar.gz It controls a sine wave with a javascript slider.
sure, here (attachment). but i dont support that code ;)
hmm, pd patch in svg with canvas... (see next post)
