I had a thought about the PD-announce list. I am a big fan of announce lists since you can keep track of a project without having to get a lot of email. But the pd-announce list seems to accept posts from anyone, so it makes it a higher volume list when people post replies, and also allows spam to be posted to it. I think we should restrict posting access to the pd-announce list and maybe at a Reply-To: pd-list to pd-announce emails. What do y'all think?

Maybe a bit of social engineering would help first, i.e. telling those who do not to use the pd-announce list for their discussions. It is the wrong place, definetly. But I would like to have posting restricted.

i like hans' idea of the reply-to: getting set to the main pd-list ... try that out first before restricting access to the announce list. it kinda gently nudges people in the right direction :) -joschi
