Dan, Lucas, thanks for your efforts! Why not host on puredata.info? cheersz, P
Thanks for spreading the post.
I was also thinking we should consider preserving the metastudio patches and externals somewhere, perhaps on the pd-externals GitHub group, as with mrpeach. Who knows how long the website will remain up.

We should download, keep it and host it somewhere to be safe maybe? cheers It's a great shame, I remember him with great joy, I still remember the anecdote about the dog. IMO it's easier to share the maintenance on something like GH, as opposed to posting zips to puredata.info. OatOH there is no reason not to do both.

While i totally agree i also think that GH is only for code. Someone might think is not fair to use it for music. May be i'm wrong but this is why i proposed my git server.
Also none of us has any rights to do anything with EK works. They belong to his family of course.

Ah man, genuinely saddened to hear this. Had a few interactions with Ed, liked his work and he did much to spread the word re Pd, esp. around London (town). May he Rest in Power
Lucas, I got the sense that Dan was talking about code but also imagine (knowing Ed) that much of his music was/is free/open. The two are often deeply entwined anyway. Prolly not top of his family's thoughts atm, maybe something we can quietly do to secure what's out there & take it from there - your kind offer of server access being perfect for that...
Best to all J.

I had created public repo https://git.nubegris.com.ar/org.ed.kelly.files/ed.kelly.files
the org. part is to be able to give supercow powers to certain people.
people willing to contribute must create an account on https://git.nubegris.com.ar/user/sign_up and fork the above repo. then submitt a PR.
anyone interested but not knowing how to use git contact me privately(via mail or via repo) or better openly in this list.
this should help to gather the files and hopefully later backups can be made easier.
:)

Much of Ed Kelly's website seems to be archived on archive.org, fortunately:
https://web.archive.org/web/20231201125710/http://sharktracks.co.uk/html/ind...
(took me a while to think of it, after the shocking news)

ok. I had hidden the repo from the public and web search bots until there's a real need for it.
