:D fart sounds are really interesting. I propose to try a collection of good sounds;. it is more interesting than dialtones :P. but we need a phisical model (texture,megatonnes,...)
in adjunt a preliminar view... the archetypal fast fart x)

Hi all,
Anyone got any advice on how to make sounds similar to the basses in this excerpt from Nightwalker - Rolling Through [NWR005]?

Really stinky wet fart noises.
Thanks,
Claude

^ here's some i synthesized this morning. mainly just simple waveforms run through delayed feedback to get a bit of unsynced wobble, and then the waveshaping patch i will attach to this mail.
my original thoughts about the wet filter didn't yield such good results, although that might have been because the one i made only has fairly short delay lines.
the farts i made a fairly crap ('scuse the pun), but kind of fart-like....however once i tried to lengthen the sound and play it melodically like in that track, it didn't work at all.
why not contact the author of that track and ask how they did it? 'excuse me, may i ask how you make your farts?" ..etc
i reckon they're probably samples, but a good synthesis method is also possible without a doubt.
hello,
Last month (during a workshop at okno.be), I tried to stream theora over the internet as well as local network with a patch feeding an Icecast server... I used the pdp_theonice object for it.
basicaly, it kind of "worked", but the output (the stream received at client side) was realy bad : the stream had only a few images at the launch of the player, then only one from time to time...
The parameters seemed not to be the problem (but maybe I'm totaly stupid
server, wich worked perfectly with a dv cam using dvgrab | ffmpeg2theora | oggfwd ... the images on the pdp-glx window from the patch were also ok...
Is there anyone that already managed to do a working theora/icecast stream ? how ? is there any other object/method I could use if this pdp one does not work as expected ?
(I did this on a fresh ubuntu 7.10 with fresh pd-extended )
thanks,
Ol.me
Number 5 sounds pretty good Matt. Something right about the filter resonance.
Listening to cartoon examples the pitch always seems to rise then fall.
But then SFX are often not what they seem, possibly a whoopee custion/balloon or like Marius said, a trick with water bottles.
The basic waveform is most definitely pulse shaped though.
