All seems fine, expect that bug I've been calling out since test5, where deken can't highlight the libs for mac. So just reminding it's an important fix before the final release. BTW, what's the plan for the stable release?
cheers

Hi, there's a new menu entry in "Help" named "Pd Help" which just opens the browser, so it the same thing as the "Browser" option below, thus, completely redundant.
Was this supposed to open something else?
Here's a screenshot: [image: Imagem inline 1]
BTW, opened an issue already at https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/172

I have the problem too (64 bit Mac version - it seems to work on the 32-bit version just fine). I don't know how to fix this and it appears that when I try to make changes to the GUI code it upsets people - so unless someone else can figure this out I'll just release it in its current almost-working state.

Seems Dan was on it, huh?
Anyway, I'm also proposing some changes to the manual.
It was originally saying Pd does not use the "Path" mechanism to search for files and externals when you use a slash declaration: "/" - such as "../sounds/sample1.wav" or "../cyclone/cycle~" But it actually does use the Path, so I changed it.
I'm also not sure about this bit:
*Pd does not automatically look in the current directory however; to enable that, include "."*
This seems to be wrong, as Pd will automatically look in the current directory regardless if you are including "." or not
right?
cheers
Yes - Pd looks in the directory of the patch whether or not '.' is specified. Adding '.' makes Pd look in the current directory of teh Pd process. I believe this only makes sense if Pd is launched from the command line or a shell script or a Windows "shortcut".
Using "." in this way is almost always confising - perhaps the best thing to say about it is that it's useful for back compatibilty only. means

cool, I also made a comment about it on the pull request, so if you accept my documentation fix, you can also sort this other issue out.
I also fixed some typos, using *"* instead of *`` - *please check my last pull requests at https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/pulls for these things, they're all minor cosmetic fixes like that, plus this documentation fix.
After the release, I'd like to propose other documentation fixes, in which we should better discuss and sort it out first, as an outcome of long discussions we've been having.
cheers

w32 seems good.
[pd~] is Ok.
All the new documents/pd thing seems fine. New paths adds correctly, only a very *minor issue* is that they don't reflect on the browser until next restart, but not restarting they appear on the "externals" sub-dir.
I`ll be doing some more tests & report if i find troubles.
Thanx!

Hey all
The Mac app not only looks very good now, it looks pretty similar to the Linux version. Dan, Miller: your work is much appreciated! I think your improvements in the preference dialogs and the help browser are valuable.
There is something bugging with very recent versions of the Mac App. The same happened on the Mac (probably due to switch of Tk version) as has happened before on Linux: The box size for font-size 10 suddenly increased. This breaks some patches, namely those that fit a symbolatom into a GOP area in that the symbolatom disappears on the parent because it is overlapping the GOP area.
Changing the font metric for font size 10 from:
7 13
to:
7 12
would fix the issue, so that patches created on Pd-0.47 and earlier on Mac and Linux still look the same in Pd-0.48. However, 7 12 looks pretty bad on Windows (box size becomes too small).
"7 13" on Windows gives same boxsize as "7 12" on Mac and Linux.
This assuming the font "DejaVu Sans Mono" is not installed. If "DejaVu Sans Mono" is installed on Windows, the resulting box size for font- size=10 is far larger, even with "7 12".
TLDR:
This would keep box sizes of Pd <= 0.47: "7 12" on Linux and Mac "7 13" on Windows If this can't be adjusted, it would be good to know if the _new_ box sizes will be the canonical sizes.

Sorry for the noise, but I need to express my joy about some jewels I only discovered now: * [list store] * [clear( -> [delwrite~] * [fudiparse], [fudiformat]
Definitely an exciting release!

hello,
on mac osx 10.12
what is the "Forget all...." for preferences supposed to do? Reset Pd to first install state? If so I would assume when I "forget all" I would get the "Would you like to create a folder in ~/Documents/Pd?" dialog but instead if I "Forget all..." and $ rm ~/Documents/Pd I get:
Pd documents directory cannot be found: /Users/megrimm/Documents/Pd Choose a new location?
Should it not just reset to initial "Would you like to create a folder in ~/Documents/Pd?" ?
cheers m
