Hello,
can you give error messages, linux distro and gf version, and an example patcher?

I have no idea why it may be faulting. I regularly take pictures out of recorded videos, camera streams, or whatever else, by adding an extra [#out] with "open blahblah.jpg" next to the [#out window], and it works. Don't forget the "close" message.
If it's faulting, get me a report using the Valgrind program, so that I can get any idea about the problem you're talking about.
