I'm starting to use PD. I have a Hammerfall HDSP 9632 card and would like to run this under Windows XP. My card seems to be set up correctly: the HDSP mixer shows any incoming mic signal on input 11, playing a cd shows a signal in output 11 and 12 as well in An 1 and 2 also is heard through headphones. However, when I open PD with peak meters selected, only input levels are shown and output remains at zero. When I go to the media menu and test audio and play PD test sound, correct input and output levels are shown. So far I have been trying this with the ASIO drivers and 12 input and 12 output channels selected in PD. I have also tried creating a patch with an adc~ object connected to a dac~ object but this made no difference. I do not know if the problem is with the HDSP mixer or with my audio settings in PD.
My question is how do I get my PD input signal to be sent to the PD output such that it will show up in the output peak meter level and such that it can be processed with PD patches?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Melissa
I have quite the same setup (rme hdsp multiface) and when I started using it with Pd I had some similar problems. Actually these problems were related to a bad command line I used for launching Pd.
This is the basic working command line I use (two audio inputs and outputs, no MIDI, no additional libraries)
"C:\pd\bin\pd.exe -r 44100 -inchannels 2 -outchannels 2 -audioindev 2 - audiooutdev 2 -asio -blocksize 128"
The argument of "-audioindev" and "-audiooutdev" is an audio device number ; in my setup, the hdsp is the audio device #2 and the MIDI device #1 ; it may be different on your setup (try "pd -listdev" to see the devices' numbers)
You may also set another "blocksize" (internal default audio buffer size) and another "r" (internal sampling rate)
Good luck --- and happy new year to everybody
