Hi crew is it possible to open/write midi files in pd. i think i've seen it been done in max(don't quote me). or is qlist the best/only option for that kind of thing. thanks tom
you can open midi files with krystofs xeq object http://suita.chopin.edu.pl/~czaja/miXed/externs/xeq.html
i'd also be interested in writing out midi files, but i guess the easiest way there would be to get the midi messages from pd into some other program that is used to recording midi information?

hi,
xeq writes both midi files ('mfwrite'), and text files (plain 'write').
The format of midi files (1 or 0) depends on a ``track template'' used.
