Hi,
a detail with number boxes has changed, in my opinion this is a bug... It is not possible any more to to send the same number a second time from a numberbox. I think before you could click the numberbox and then type into it and hit enter and the entered number was sent. But since version I think 0.37.0 (or is it only with this version???) I can enter any number, but not the same one again. Is there a reason for that?
marius.
hi marius I don't have this behavior on my pd 037 win, not with number ore number2. grz nos

hmm, I have 0.37.0 and XP and if I enter the same number again then three dots appear after the number, which do not disappear after I press enter. I think the number is sent though... marius.

This behavior exists in 0.37.1 on Win2K, bug or not... Duplicate number & Enter: leaves 3 dots, but always sends the #.
Worse, Enter alone resets the box to 0.
Worse, all number adjustments are sent (optional on Max)
Worse, there's no ABORT. A mouse move to the sides of the box should abort and restore the previous value.
Proposal for numberbox behavior:
a bangbutton sitting there. Adjustments can be "silent" : no intervening values sent. Adjustments can be aborted by mousing off the box.
uses 'enter' to destroy content on anything but fully and willingly selected text?
These are optional, so as to not break expected behavior.
So if somebody's already written this, please advise.

Yep, I intend to work on this some more... probably, now, I'll put out a 0.37-2 bug-fix release...

Proposal for numberbox behavior:
- numberbox should Optionally "always send on mouse up" A usually static number can be resent without fiddling, and without
a bangbutton sitting there. Adjustments can be "silent" : no intervening values sent. Adjustments can be aborted by mousing off the box.
- 'enter' alone should Optionally RESEND, instead of clearing. So 'enter' isn't a DESTRUCTIVE FORCE. Think about it: what editor
uses 'enter' to destroy content on anything but fully and willingly selected text?
- up/down cursorkeys should Optionally increase/decrease, like the mouse.
These are optional, so as to not break expected behavior.
So if somebody's already written this, please advise.

i use this occasion for another (maybe) bugreport:
the $0-option of the send-symbol of a symbol-gatom seems not to work. $0 as a receive-symbol works. also send-symbols without any $0 do work.
