Hi,
I have patch that uses between 50 and 65 % of the CPU load according to the load meter from Miller (under menu help). When it goes over 60% there are a lot of audio drops and cuts. Is this normal ? How can I optimised my system ? I am running pd36 on OSX with built-in sound card. The computer is a G4 400Mhz with 640MRAM. Has the Ram something to do with it ? Any advice will be great.
Thanks Alex
RAM could have something to do with it if you use so much that it causes swapping. Check out your memory usage using top or Process Viewer. You can see free memory and swap usage there. Also, are you running pd as root using -realtime? That will also help by elevating the priority of the Pd process.
