Checking the mail archive found on Pd's website (puredata.info), which is this
https://www.mail-archive.com/pd-list@iem.at/maillist.html
and sorting the messages by date, the latest I get is from 2014/05/12. Should I be looking somewhere else to find more recent messages?

I thought this is the official archive? https://lists.puredata.info/pipermail/pd-list/

Ok, never saw that before. Pd's website seems to be directing me to the link I posted in the OP, by clicking on Community -> Mailing Lists -> and the first "mail archive" link, in "pd-list". Isn't that misleading?

i wonder how you managed to subscribe to the mailinglist then. https://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list clearly mentions the archivs.

puredata.info is community driven, everybody can edit it.
if *you* are not satisfied with the archive, you can just change the URLs to something "better". (this is btw what happened and why the URLs are now pointing to some random mailinglist archiver)

https://lists.puredata.info/listinfo is what I use, though it is a bit hard to find what you want sometimes... browse to whichever list you want, then follow the archives link, then search or navigate by monthly indices.
https://www.mail-archive.com/pd-list@lists.iem.at/maillist.html also works (note the extra "lists." in the address).
maybe the link you found needs to be updated?
