hi all & hc in particular, is there / would it be possible to include a startup flag to show the console window immediately? it's nice to have the option to switch it off, but i use it all the time and would like the possibility to just have it open from the beginning. cheers, robbert

There is a variable for it in pd.tk (you use). It's ca. line 212.
Change that to 1 - such that it reads 'set show_text_window 1'. But
just changing it doesn't enable the text window at startup just. By
adding 'showhide_printouttext $show_text_window' at line ca. 265,
just after '#pack .printout -side bottom -fill both -expand 1', you'd
be ok for now, i think.
thanks--but i think this is a bit over my head. i don't know about the guts of pd, and am not too eager to find out, to be honest. opening the window manually leaves me more time for patching :) cheers, rob bert
