For a project I'm working on, I need to create the illusion of a radio that's not quite tuned (in fact what I'm really after is the kind of sound you get on not-quite-tuned shortwave radio.)
Does anyone have an idea on a possible solution?
Many thanks!

Haven't actually tried it, but I'd try a short modulated delay line [vd~], modulated by filtered noise or sine(s). Doesn't have any relation with the distortions in sw radio, but it will sound quite lofi.
good luck + regards, j#|@

For a start I would try ring-modulating your sound with noise using [*~]. Also multiply with a pure sine wave whose frequency increases the further out of tune you get.
