dear list,
i was wondering what current developments with Pd and webstreaming are out there.
once upon a time there was a Pd-Radio on this URL: http://pdradio.iem.at
then there is this tutorial: how to make a Pd Radio http://bitsynthesis.com/2010/05/pure-data-radio-how-to-stream-mp3-audio-for-...
and a broken? stream here: http://metaminafnr.hotglue.me/
the only thing i've found which seems to be working is:
PatchWerk Radio http://radio.rumblesan.com/
anything else what's notable?

I once read about it in irc, when the guy building it had some talks, but missed to actually listen to it. My 1.5 year old son and me really enjoyed it. Thanks for posting this.
(It seems at the time of this writing, the stream is offline. I get a 404 when accessing http://radio.rumblesan.com:8000/radio.ogg )

It's up to other people to decide if it's notable, but since you're asking, let me mention those in a self-promoting manner:

Home: http://www.netpd.org/Listen Plays pre-recorded netpd-sessions in shuffle mode. Stream is generated by a Pd patch.
http://195.176.254.176:8010/rsk.mp3
Home: http://www.radiosolarkompass.org/ Plays Radios from all over the world from the those places where the sun currently is rising. Stream is composed by a Pd patch.

hey, I'm the creator of radio.rumblesan glad you enjoyed it and apologies for the stream being down. I'm getting occasional disconnections happening with the oggcast object atm and I haven't gotten to the bottom of it (though it could be any of a number of other bugs). might have a look at it this evening.
I'm currently trying to restart the radio server from my phone so might have it back up in a moment.
The biggest thing I learnt whilst building the radio is basically where PDs weaknesses lie. For doing the file manipulation/tracking/daemonisation PD isn;t that great which is why I have a python script that does the controlling and PD is essentially just running the patches and doing the streaming.
I've actually been toying with the idea of recoding the whole thing in pure C using libPD which would mean that i won't have to mess around with sockets and inter process communication and would have (I feel at least) better control over the streaming.
I think that PD as server side software is a great thing, but it's important to know what you want it to do.
swings and roundabouts i guess heh
