copy it into a plaintext file, save the file as "whateveryouwant.pd" and open it with pd. i dont know what os you use (you should generally give that info when you ask for help) so i cant tell you which editors to use, but dont use a word processor, use something like notepad, simple text, or vi/emacs

hi. i have one thing to ask: how do i "convert" a pd patch written like this:
#N canvas 241 163 535 358 10; #X floatatom 368 247 0 0 0 0 - - -; #N canvas 159 26 495 266 output 0; #X obj 372 176 t b...............
to a "real" pd patch? do i need to compile it or maybe smthing else?
thanx in advance

change the file extension from .txt to .pd. If you haven't done it already, you should disable the "hide file extensions for known file types" feature in the windows explorer preferences. Tools -> Folder Options -> View otherwise, even if you try to chagne it to whatever.pd, it might call it whatever.pd.txt -David
