How many samples does it take bonk~ to spit out an attack from the
point that it receives the audio?
I'm using bonk to dump info from an xrecord~ into a buffer, but
I'd like to find out where in that buffer the attack happened. At the moment I'm just guessing that it's the "about 6ms" that it says in the bonk~ helpfile.

You migtht want to take a look at my Pecycle abstraction. It's a mess, but also an example of how you could analyse and use bonk~-data from loops.

I had a look at it but... couldn't really follow what was going
on. A little too much of a spiderweb...

I know, I know, sorry about that. But you know how you can get taken away by Pd... I once posted a detailed description of what's going on in it here. You might want to look at the archives and look for pecycle.

Unfortunately it varies... I believe between 6 and 18 msec. Sharper attacks get reported faster.
I plan (someday) to equalize the delay to worst case, and make it an option how long to wait before reporting.
