It does sound like the FLEXT_NOGLOBALNEW problem. When you hit stop, it will crash.
the ./configure script will define -DFLEXT_USE_CMEM for newer versions of flext that are named libflext-pd.so ....and will define -DFLEXT_NOGLOBALNEW for older versions of flext that are just called libflext.so
it seems to work for me. I have a relatively new flext and new pd versions. maybe Thomas can tell us if something else is up.
