No offense to the great work of HC, but I could not for my life get the Extras to load. Burts loaded the extras like a dream (or according to how it should work - pref/startup/Gem - apply, save, relaunch). Wish I could give some details on why, but there is no messages in the box.
Timon.
No offense taken. But more info would be good so I can fix the bug.
Which extras? How were you trying to get them to load?

Ok, went with Hans for now and - wow! This is so much more ordinary-user-freindly than what I was trying to use before; no terminal opens, and there's a prefs menu instead of trying to edit the .prdc, the fonts are the right size, and the helpfiles accessible.
Thanks!
Actually, while were at it, why do I have a .pdrc and a .prdc~ in my home folder now?
Thanks, what we are working towards. That reminds me of something I
forgot to mention: for this new Pd.app, I standardized the font size on
all of the help patches so there should be no more big font help
patches on OSX.
Also, this is the work of many people, not just me. Both Miller
Puckette and Gerard Roma contributed to the Pd.app build system, to
start with. Miller wrote the new prefs system, I think the new console
is based on the work of Matju Bouchard. And then there is all the rest
of the stuff included in Pd...

No, the console in 0.38 is the work of Miller Puckette. Mine is quite distinguishable from Miller's because it has three additional features:
-console in rc args)
set it to 100 or 10000 if you want, easily.
kick the scrollbar back to the end.
and also, implementation-wise,
is hardcoded.
back in jan 2004, and then improved it a bit for the ImpureData branch that i started in the following month)
