how does one enable anti-aliasing in Gem?
I tried messing around with:
GLdefine GL_MULTISAMPLE_ARB
|
|
[glEnable]
in different pipeline structures.
any clues?
gracias -augusto.
[FSAA 2] (or 4, 6) to gemwin i think.

FWIW, that never worked for me. Is there another way? Do you need to enable something in the driver?

depends on the platform, for instance under windows you might be able to tweak opengl quality settings somewhere at the display controls, I did that with nvidia cards...

the [FSAA $1( only works with nivida cards.
for ATI, you have to read the hw-documentation ;-) (honestly, i do not know how to enable fsaa for ati's on a per application basis. any hints ?=
exactly state of the kunst.
are they even able to do aa in hw ?

Accelerated points and lines are supported, but smoothing (anti-aliasing) and stippling are done with software fallback.

for ATI under linux, you need to install the driver from ati (fglrx) for antialiasing under gem (using [FSAA 4]).
XF86Config-4:
# === FSAA Management === Option "FSAAEnable" "yes" Option "FSAAScale" "4"
it works here. patrick

I added the FSAA code for OSX, but never had a way to check the other platforms. FSAA has to be enabled during the context creation, which means setting the level before creating the window. The code does work on OSX. The same basic code should work in the window/context creation code for the other platforms if someone implements it.
As mentioned by others, there are all sorts of ways to tweak this either globally or per application on Windows machines using various drivers.
