Obviously, it's a niX lanifier. For lanifying niXes. If you don't lan
your niXes regularly, they could explode.

you misread. its Ian, not lan. like an Ianizing filtration system of 70s musical ideas into 00 software implementations..
it does look kind of neat, like a standalone version of PD's datastructures..check the PDF

I read the .pdf , it looks fun.
It's a multi-temporal sequencer thingy (many timelines, warpable etc) Outputs OSC packets
That's about it.

Basically, it's a version of UPIC that generates OSC data.

Yes. And it's not bad at all, I would say.
I was developing something similar myself (at first in squeak and then in python with the cairo library).
This software is really interesting. It's not just a bunch of envelopes. And it's not something that could be easily replaced with pd structures, since the ability to zoom (yes, it's a ZUI :-) ) is what makes this interface worth.
I've tried this software. It does much already, but I hope interface will be improved anytime soon (it misses the ability to select multiple objects and a dialog to edit all the properties of an object).
Thumbs up!

Did you read the tutorial?
I've figured out most of the functionalities by playing with the software and then I browsed through it but it seems written clearly. There are also references to pd and using dumpOSC.
There are some sample project too, but for Processing. Haven't tried them yet.
But IanniX just outputs (but also listens to) open sound control packets, so it's up to the musician to choose how to use it.
When I'll have some spare time, I'll try to see the Processing examples and convert them for Pd.
Ciao,

hello,
few years ago i made a pd additive synth in order to use Iannix. (it's in pd-cvs/abstractions/nusmuk/additive.pd) (there is also a granular synthesis synth that easilly compatible with iannix)
i did not install this version yet, but it sound strange that there is no pd exemple. they must be somwhere.
iannix have a fonctionality to dynamically build a pd patch regarding to any score in order to easilly connect any pd synthesis.

I agree that there should be. I think that it's common practice to rip off example patches when using new tools, so this would facilitate.

Wow, this sounds awesome!
Hi,
and sorry about the lack of information. Well, IanniX is a graphical sequencer that uses OSC, and so works perfectly with pd. It is pretty easy to use, and some examples with pd are available on the sourceforge IanniX webpage. Have a look at this page/ http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=174402
thanks
