Hello,
I am trying to get back into using Gem. I got a compile (thanks tigital and Kurt)
I have the libmpeg3 libmpeg3-dev and libquicktime4linux0 and libquicktime4linux-dev installed on Debian
rc libquicktime0 0.0.20021001-0.3 cinelerra testing ii libquicktime4linux-dev 1.3-5 Header files for developing applications with quicktime ii libquicktime4linux0 1.3-5 A library for reading and writing Quicktime files
ii libmpeg1 1.3.1-2.1 The MPEG library calls for movie streams ii libmpeg3-1 1.5-4 mpeg decoding library ii libmpeg3-dev 1.5-4 headers and static libraries for libmpeg3
perhaps I have the wrong packages, because the output of ./configure looks ok:
checking for png_set_compression_level in -lpng... (cached) yes checking for main in -lglib... (cached) yes checking for quicktime_open in -lquicktime... (cached) yes checking for OpenMPEG in -lmpeg... (cached) yes checking for mpeg3_open in -lmpeg3... (cached) yes checking for main in -ltiff... (cached) yes checking for main in -ljpeg... (cached) yes checking for libmpeg3.h... (cached) yes
but when I go to test the pix_film example I get the error messages as though pix_film hasn't been compiled properly:
error: GEM: pix_film: '/usr/local/share/doc/gem/examples/04.pix/../data/anim-1.mov' does not appear to be a supported movie error: GEM: pix_film: '/usr/local/share/doc/gem/examples/04.pix/../data/alea.mpg' does not appear to be a supported movie
Also, if I try the pix_video examples I get this error:
error: GEM: Unable to create single buffer window error: GEM: Error creating const context error: GEM: A serious error occured creating const Context error: GEM: Do not continue!
Am I right that pix_film is the object to be used under linux? I want frame per frame control of a video file synched with temporal events.
Thankyou for your time,
