Hi
I am having trouble building GEM from CVS,
configure: error: GL not found! you need openGL!!!
is the error i get.
I know i installed and re-installed libMesa and libMesa-dev on Ubuntu 6.10
anyone have this difficulty?
I am using secondlife and had problem with the ati driver on the site so i removed it [secondlife would not run}
Is there a way to build Mesa from source and have GEm use that and not conflict with SL?
or is there a binary Gem.pd_linux that i have missed
pp
synaptic wierdness
built but now i get
./Gem.pd_linux: ./Gem.pd_linux: undefined symbol: glUniform2i Gem: can't load library

is it really turning rendering off or is it destroying the gemwindow?
the latter performs the former, but i only heard of people (lately) that experienced crashes when destroying the gemwindow.
however, it is a serious bug.

yes, you were correct, when i destroyed the window it crashed not rendering, sorry. But i found a nice work around [at least for ubuntu linux and ati 9800 radeon card.]
go here:
http://albertomilone.com/driver.html
and add the bleeding edge repository. install that driver and devel re-compile Gem and no crashes.
