That solution worked for me. However it's possible that it varies across versions of pd and else it's possible that it only works with X11 (?).

Ah, ok, its works, I had the vis backwards. It seems odd to me that
the window has to be hidden to be relocated. Have you figured out what
the two different geometries are?
