Hi list,
i wanna know how works an Aural Exciter, so if does exist some objects to do one on Pd,
thanks
Aural Exciter introduces harmonics to audio signal, depending on the energy found in the high-passed part of the signal. Look at http://iem.at/~majdak/alg/VO/nonlin.pdf Page 34 (in German - look at the structure) or at http://www.aphex.com/pdf/papers/APHEX_AES_reprint_Chalupper.pdf for some psychophysical investigations and psychacoustic background.

details of aural 'exciting' are probably found in musicdsp list/archives or yahoo search, but most employ techniques like multiband compression and harmonics generation, primarily the latter for 'warmer' sounding bass and lush highs. if you favor the more harsh harmonics they can be added via pregain into clip~.. or might want to look into amp-sim formulae and modelling those with expr~ or base pd objects..
do one on Pd,
thanks
