hello,
i'm using maphash in one of my patches. is there any alternative to store a symbol (string) in a variable? i would like to get rid of maphash, because it's not in any of the pd packages in debian.
you can approximate the [value] object in an abstraction, i've attached a version that can store symbols. it behaves slightly differently from a [value] object in that you can only recieve values that have been sent since the object was created. it also steps on the [send/receive] namespace.
you could also use the [any] object (from iemlib) to make it able to store anything.

or try "coll" from the cyclone-library. this is my favourite x,y storage object.

Another idea would be "pool". Saves more than just [x: y].

That's because it isn't in the CVS yet. Orm, you're reading this? Should we (or I) add maphash to the cvs?
