Hi all,
I am trying to recompile pd-0.38-4 on OSX 10.3.9. configure script checks for tk which is installed and does not find it. PD does not compile. It is in Macintosh HD:/Library/Frameworks/Tk.framework/Versions/8.4/Headers
Ouch! Ed

The configure script has a relative path to Tcl/Tk in Miller's version. Replace the includes in the script with the static path.
Maybe Miller can check the setup and make sure the absolute location of those headers is used.

...to just elaborate a bit more:
a) there are two places in the makefile where include paths would
need to be changed from "../../whatever" to "/Library/Frameworks/
Tk.framework/whatever": these were changed to work with the install
script for hans' all-in-one app bundle, but as you see, it screws up
making the cli version...
b) this has been covered many times before, so please search the
archives as a "first thought"...

this really should be added to the README if not already in there, don't you think?

I have a patch in on the patch tracker on sourceforge that cleans up
the build process on OSX regarding Tcl/Tk and jack.

If you are going to be building a Pd.app (as opposed to a command
line/Wish Shell pd), then I think you'll find it easier to use
packages/darwin_app/Makefile from CVS. Just set up the files from CVS
like this: https://www.puredata.org/docs/developer/devlayout and run
"make darwin_app_core". There is a README in packages/darwin_app also.
