Thanks for the update. The question is-- are you still able to use the MIDIMAN w/ windows (assuming you ever did)?
I haven't tried it under Windows since I loaded it under Linux but there shouldn't be any problem as the driver is downloaded to the MidiSport every time it is fired up. The driver is held in RAM on the MidiSport not ROM or EEPROM. I wrote a script for Linux to download the firmware via the USB port when I want to use MIDI. If you are nervous about it let me know and I'll boot up PD in XP and give it a try. Jim

I thought I'd let people know that I got the MidiSport 2x2 working with PD under Linux. MIDIMAN doesn't supply Linux drivers for this device however Bill Orcutt (Thanks Bill) suggested trying the ones here:

You must also download firmware to the device which you can get here:
http://ezusb2131.sourceforge.net/

I am nervous, so if you could try it out when you have the time, that would be fantastic.
thanks!

Ok its official. The MIDISPORT works fine in Windows and Linux. The only restriction is you have to power down the device between different OS's to flush the previous firmware from RAM. So go for it Bill. Jim
