Hello list!
I am a friend of Brien Crean's. He has spoken very highly of his experience with this list. I am also using pd in my final year project which is called rhythm manifest[o]. It consists of a drumkit acting as an interface between the user and particle systems in a 3d space. Basically, when you hit a drumpad, a pico device sends the numbers into pd. These numbers are used to 1. trigger and create sonic particles for the soundscape and 2. trigger and inform particle systems created in Director and projected onto a wall. I am sure this is the first of many questions! Q. I am using the syncgrain object to break the pitched note assigned to every drumpad into sonic particles. What is the best way for me to set this up? At the moment I have two of the pads activated and have assigned them a syncgrain object each. Should I use one syncgrain object for all 8 pads and have each pad trigger different parameter settings? I did try this earlier but one pad seems to be way more responsive to the other despite both attached to the synchgrain object in exactly the same way. Even now, it seems as if it can only work properly on one channel at a time.
Any suggestions gratefull accepted. Thanks in advance, Ailbhe
