I did a succesful build of pd-extended-rc6 on Ubuntu Maverick amd64. Pidip did not compile, so I left it out . Still working on the build.
I believe I got the source by doing the auto-build process: rsync -av --delete rsync://128.238.56.50/distros/pd-extended/ pd-extended/ ./pd-extended/scripts/auto-build/pd-extended-auto-builder.sh
--
I tried building from this source as well, once it was released: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pure-data/Pd-0.42.5-extended.tar.gz
Build failed already at bonk~. Is pd (not pd-extended) not updated in this source? What is different about this source?
The rsync/script method should work. I'm in the process of setting up
a Maverick/i386 box, so I guess we'll find out soon what all breaks.
Can you post the build errors?

Here's my build of pd-extended 0.42-5 for Ubuntu Maverick amd64.

The only extra library not included is pidip.

This is the error I got when building from this source: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pure-data/Pd-0.42.5-extended.tar.gz
make -C ../extra/bonk~ make: Entering an unknown directory make: *** ../extra/bonk~: No such file or directory. Stop.

What about then upgrading the Hardy box to Lucid, as it is the current LTS? ...I know it's no fun :o)

Hardy is still supported, so the hardy box will stay Hardy. I'm
upgrading the Karmic box to Maverick now. Its already at Lucid, on
its way to Maverick, hopefully in time for tonight's build.

My problem compiling the external "pidip" is now solved. After looking at Pd-0.42.5-extended/externals/pidip/INSTALL I realized I hadn't installed: libimlib2-dev I'm pretty sure that was the problem. This library doesn't seem to be mentioned at: http://puredata.info/docs/developer/Debian
Also, the reason why I couldn't build http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pure-data/Pd-0.42.5-extended.tar.gz was because I had uninstalled the package "puredata", not realizing it was a dependency.
Anyway, here's my build of pd-extended for Ubuntu Maverick amd64, for anyone who is interested. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7703622/Pd-0.42.5-extended.deb

If its needed for the build, then please add it to that wiki page :)

Sure, I can do that. I will make a new build next week on a fresh install of Maverick (the release candidate), and check all the dependencies then. I'm not a developer. I only build pd-extended for my own use, but I would love to contribute in any way I can.
