Music Technician which includes the support of the new Research
Centre for Electroacoustic Composition, Performance and Sound Art
opening at the University of Manchester.
The new research centre encompasses three multi-channel composition
studios plus one 24-channel sound diffusion and composition research
studio, in addition to a teaching cluster, support rooms and data and
audio networks. The centre also embodies the activities of the MANTIS
concert series and performances, undergraduate teaching and learning,
postgraduate and guest artist research, KAIROS electroacoustic
ensemble, and other collaborative projects.

The key responsibility of the post holder will be the technical
support of the electroacoustic studios. You will be part of a team of
technical staff who support the public performance spaces, studios
and specialist teaching.
Applicants should have a background in Music Technology consisting of
an HE diploma, degree or minimum of two years professional
experience. You should have an in-depth knowledge of Mac-based
digital audio software, other music applications, Macintosh
computers, software and operating systems together with a good
working knowledge and experience of current audio recording
techniques and systems. You should have good organisational and
communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a
team and autonomously.
