hi olaf, hi all
i noticed that maxlib is not maintained anymore and there is no place where you can download it at the moment. since using maxlib is essential for netpd, this is a big problem for me/us/netpd-community. i'd like to ask you politely, if it is ok for you, when i post the sources and the binaries on my site http://www.netpd.org . otherwise i would have to rebuild the whole netpd-package from scratch. i won't be able to continue maintaining maxlib, since i'm not able to program in c, but it would be nice, if there would be a place to download maxlib and it won't disappear completely.
thanks for your answer in advance
cheers roman

Uhm: maxlib is available in Pd's sourceforge CVS for a long time, so there's no need to post it on another website. As maxlib is GNU GPL you are of course allowed to redistribute it on your site as well, make changes to it, break it, fix it etc. as long as you follow the GPL rules. However this could be done in the CVS as well, and it would be the better place to do so.

hi frank
thanks for the tips. finally i found out myself, that maxlib is GNU GPL. i also found the sources in cvs, but i have no idea what to do with them. can anybody tell me, how to compile maxlib? i couldn't find any documentation about that. if i tell people who want to start with netpd to compile maxlib themselves, i want to offer them a short howto, at least.
cheers roman

well for linux it's basically cd to maxlib's directory and type make pd_linux (on a linux system you should have gcc and automake installed) on os x it's just a "make pd_darwin" (also gcc and gnu make must be installed) I have no clue about windos though. Maybe someone could just build a .dll for win32 users since having a c compiler installed seems to be all but standard for windos work- stations.
